Tokyo is not kind to those who don't know where things are.
You find them eventually but after two days of record shopping and city exploring my feet and legs are just worn out.
Off yo find something more relaxing than Shibuya-ku and Shinjuku-ku but I'm sure I'll bounce back tomorrow and be ready for more.
I wonder how long it takes one's peripheral vision to adjust to navigating a city where there is more above ground then on the ground. Sometimes you just have to go building to building and explore.
Posted a feature on UR on my blog. Youtube rejected it (> 10min) which was a little frustrating but "teh GooGle" came through with the goods.
Got stuck in a bit of formatting hell due to flock's lack of decent image placement tools and my lack of web skills when trying to do by hand (using the wonderful marsedit).
Worked it out eventually.
Jon Stewart is not my favourite American satirist by any stretch.
But - occasionally The Daily Show sneaks out some humour and they are very good at pilfering news stock. This analysis 'What Exactly Is President Bush's Job?' is probably TDS at it's best.
UPDATE: since CC pulled clips I can only find this shorter version ... bah!
brainwashed.com has an interview with Mika Vainio and some live footage as well. New pan sonic album is due in November.
I didn't realise there was a second season of Extras on the way - the first season ended with Andy getting a show and hence quitting extras work.
Norman G. Finkelstein is a political science professor at DePaul University.
His work on the Israel Palestine conflict is easy to understand, rigorous and eye opening. While he has said that in his opinion the topic is relatively uncontroversial and raises no profound moral questions, his books do explore larger questions of academic freedom and scientific method (and its associated human fallibility).
He also delivers his talks in a great personable style which adds humanity and even humour to a serious subject.
Check out this talk he gave at Yale in April ...
